We asked our community: where do you eat? Hundreds of responses later, we have compiled the definitive list of Tamil Canadian community favourites for 2026. Whether you crave a crispy dosa at 8am or a late-night kothu, here is where our community is eating.
1. Sathya's South Indian Kitchen — Scarborough
No surprise at the top. Sathya's has topped our community poll three years running. The masala dosa and filter coffee are unmatched. Arrive early on weekends — it fills up fast.
2. Ceylon Spice Restaurant — Montreal
For anyone visiting or living in Montreal, Ceylon Spice is mandatory. The kothu roti is the most authentic outside of Sri Lanka, and the portion sizes are incredibly generous.
3. Vimala's Catering Services — Markham
Vimala's traditional saapadu trays are legendary in the Tamil community. Whether you order for a home gathering of 10 or a wedding of 300, the quality never wavers.
