Annual Charity Drive Raises $250,000 for Tamil Refugee Resettlement
The Tamil Canadians community surpassed its fundraising target, raising a quarter of a million dollars for newly arrived Tamil refugee families.
The Tamil Canadian Charitable Foundation's 2025 annual fund drive has exceeded its target, raising $250,000 from over 1,800 individual donors across Canada. The funds will be used to provide six months of rental assistance, English language tutoring, and employment counselling to 45 Tamil refugee families resettled in Ontario, BC, and Alberta in 2025.
The foundation's executive director expressed gratitude to the community's generosity and called on established Tamil Canadians to volunteer as settlement mentors for newly arrived families. Details at tamilcanadians.ca/volunteer.
