New Tamil Saturday School Opens in Mississauga
The Mississauga Tamil Kalvi Kuzhu — a new weekend Tamil language school — has officially opened its doors at Tomken Middle School, welcoming 120 students ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 8. The school is the seventh registered Tamil supplementary school in the Peel Region and the first to offer a dedicated stream for heritage learners born in Canada.
Curriculum covers Tamil reading, writing, grammar, and literature including excerpts from the Thirukkural and Sangam poetry. Classes are held every Saturday from 9am to 12pm. Registration remains open for the spring term.
