Provincial Nominee Programs Explained: Ontario vs BC
Two of the most popular PNP destinations for Tamil immigrants compared — Ontario's OINP and British Columbia's BC PNP.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) allow provinces to nominate immigrants for permanent residence based on their specific labour market and economic needs. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score in the Express Entry pool, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

Ontario's OINP operates multiple streams including the Human Capital Priorities stream (for Express Entry candidates), the Masters Graduate stream, and the Employer Job Offer streams. BC's BC PNP has the Tech Pilot stream for technology workers and the Skills Immigration stream for skilled workers in high-demand occupations. Both provinces have drawn large numbers of Tamil applicants in recent years, particularly in healthcare and technology.
