Tamil Youth Council Launches in Brampton
The Tamil Youth Council of Brampton has been officially launched at a ceremony attended by Brampton Mayor and several regional councillors. The 20-member council, elected by youth from Tamil schools and community organisations across the city, will advise Tamil community organisations on programming, advocacy priorities, and youth engagement strategies.
Council president Anusiya Kanagaratnam, 22, said the initiative will amplify youth voices on issues including mental health support, career mentorship, and Tamil language preservation in the diaspora.
